All About Rest Relaxation and Feeling Fabulous!
If you have ever had a massage yourself you know how amazing you felt afterwards. Those achy muscles were relaxed, that stiffness in your neck had disappeared, and your stress level had gone way down. Our canine friends experience those similar conditions and will benefit in the same way from massage therapy.
Massage is touch with intent and includes the manipulation of the skin, muscles, tendons, connective tissue, and ligaments. There are various techniques that are used to relieve sore muscles, promote relaxation, increase range of motion, and speed up the healing process.
There is a lot that happens both physically and psychologically during touch including hope, trust, and relationship building.
Canine Massage should NOT be used as a substitute for veterinary care. As a certified massage therapist I do not diagnose, perform surgery, or prescribe medications.
